We first came to Barbados for a cruise that I had received for my 50th birthday, 4 years ago. During our time on the island, we absolutely fell in love with the climate and the people. Switch to 8 months later, when we were back in Canada from Europe where we lived at the time, we did a side trip to Barbados. We were met by Karyn at our hotel, the Butterfly if memory serves. On the South Coast. Immediately, we liked Karyn. She was cheerful, all smiles, and a true pleasure to be around. We came back to Barbados the following February, (2016) and Karyn found us a wonderful rental property for us to live in while we looked for our dream home. We stayed at this property until the end of May 2016, and in that time Karyn must have shown us every possible house that was for sale on this entire island. We went North, South, and settled on West. Finally. Karyn would pick us up at our rental in Sandy Lane, she would have pages prepared for the houses/condos/castles that we were going to go to to take a look. During our many many many days together we discovered how professional Karyn is, how well she does her job, how she is never pushy (which is the absolute worst thing for an agent to be, to be our agent!), and how, no matter how many houses/condos/castles she showed us and we Ixnayed each and every one, she always left us with a smile. We began our search on the South Coast with a bungalow, which was around $350,000 USD. We soon discovered that pricing on Barbados would require us to come to the table with a wee bit more cash. Hence, the showing us of houses/condos/castles! We finally settled on a little sea side villa in St. James that required a full year of renovation. We are now very happily ensconced in our happy home, Karyn pops by every now and then when she is driving by just to say hello and to make sure all is well with us. We could not give Karyn Fakoory a higher recommendation for her tireless efforts on our behalf, her winning charm, her knowledge of the properties of the island, her many many contacts and finally, that contagious smile that she always greets you with every time you see her! - Brent McCarthy & Peder Berggren, Barbados
